“The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.” F. Scott Fitzgerald
Let it be known here and now that my all encompassing hatred and unwavering disgust for all men is drawn from a well so deep that it could never possibly run dry. No unrequited longing or positive anecdote could ever stand to erase or undo the objectively consistent and infinite failings of men.
That being said - I’m still a woman. A woman who was once a little girl who grew up reading fairy tales about princesses and true love’s kiss and even to this day cannot resist a steamy telenovela with an insufferably high stakes romance.
My capacity to hate men is so great - but unfortunately, that means my capacity to love is just as great.
Profound,
extraordinary,
fully alight,
wholly engulfing,
never ending.
I hate so much the idea that two things can be true at the same time.
